Education recognition

Each applicant is required to provide proof of previous education that qualifies them for university-level study.
For bachelor's degree programs, this means secondary education completed with a school-leaving examination (or its foreign equivalent).
For master's degree programs, a completed bachelor's degree from a higher education institution is required.

Effective from March 1, 2025, there has been a change in the rules regarding the recognition of foreign education as part of the admission process at Unicorn University. Applicants for bachelor’s or master’s degree programs are generally no longer required to submit a certificate of general recognition of foreign education in the Czech Republic (so-called “nostrification”).
Unicorn University now assesses foreign education independently for the purposes of the admission process.
The obligation to provide nostrification arises only if the university expresses doubts about the level, scope, or content of the applicant’s previous education.
This change significantly simplifies the application process for prospective students.

Evaluation process of previous education recognition

You can submit the request for recognition assessment only after you have properly submitted your application for study and paid the admission fee.
Confirmation of request submission. You will receive confirmation that the assessment process has begun within 5 business days of submitting your request. The confirmation will appear directly in the information system after submission, and you will also receive an email notification.
Result. You will receive the result within 20 business days from the start of the assessment process. We will notify you through the university information system as well as by email. In case of any uncertainties, we may ask you to provide additional information or documents.

Sending documents to the university address
If the result is positive, you are required to send the documents that were subject to assessment in printed form to the university’s address.
Detailed instructions will be provided along with the assessment result via the university information system and by email.
If your request is rejected, you may apply for general recognition (nostrification) of your previous education.
Details about the general nostrification process will be included in the rejection notice of your internal recognition request.
