Josef Hasman, Software Development Student, Full-time Study
About Josef
Josef Hasman is a Software Development sophomore. Unicorn University was his first choice, as here he is able to combine his studies with playing ice hockey at a professional level.
From End-of-Semester Assignment to Project
“When I got A from my end-of-semester assignment, my teacher recommended me to Mr. Beránek (Unicorn University Managing Director) and as a result, I joined an educational project concerning 3D printing,” says Josef. He started working on an interactive publication on 3D printing, which currently spans nine chapters and a glossary of terms. But the project is still ongoing. “This is a rather novel area under constant development. It is not unlike the first push-button telephones. Gradually, the technology will be improved upon.”
Hands-on Education
When it comes to lessons, Josef appreciates their hands-on nature. “What I love most about my study is that it is not so much about memorising from textbooks, but rather about getting something done in practice: to try something out, to write some code, to experience new situations,” he says. During his studies, Josef has already completed several workshops with real-world assignments, so he, for example, came up with a harbour solution, programming its electronic database.
A few words from Josef
“I really appreciate our collaboration with Unicorn, as they let us participate in multiple projects. For me, it was, among other things, the 3D printing, where I contribute content to the books they publish. And as it could be quite a challenge to combine my studies and my work with ice hockey, I am very glad that Unicorn University is so forthcoming.”
