The course aims at introducing management principles and methods in a wider socio-economic and cultural context. Students get to know the most significant cultural differences with notable impact on work behaviour, management styles and workplace interactions in general. Tasks and projects solved in the workshops mainly illustrate divergencies of cultures in Europe and North America, Asia, Africa and South America.

Cultural competence development & Cooperation with others
Elements of culture (Artefacts, Norms & Values, Core)
Cross-cultural management models (GLOBE, Hall, Hofstede, Trompenaars, Lewis)
Cultural Transfer & Cultural Shock
Communication accros cultures (paralinguistic and non-verbal)
Cultural dimensions: Self and others (Power distance, Status, Rules, etc)
Cultural dimensions: Time (Poly/monochronism, long/short, etc)
Cultural dimensions: Locus of control, Trust & Emotions
Corporate cultures (Guide missile, Eiffel Tour, Incubator, Family)
Reconciling cultural differences (Hampden-Turner’s) and Diversity at work
